Join us for a full cycle harvest workshop at the farm. Over one day, we’ll embark on a journey to deepen our connection with the food we consume and cover the basics of raising either poultry, rabbits or goats.
What goes into bringing an animal from farm to table? From being bred, born, loved and cared for, through to harvest and nourishment. Our intention is to foster understanding and develop skills to honour the food we consume with respect and appreciation.
Not all of us have had these traditional skills passed down to us, nor access to land to develop these skills ourselves. So wether you are positioned & inspired to raise your own livestock or not - we’ve created this opportunity for you to experience what goes on behind the vail of grocery store convenience. We feel it is important to bare witness to the process in its entirety, before it’s neatly packaged. The experience often informs how much and from where we purchase meat, and for many it’s a time to reframe eating habits to align with newfound values.
Throughout the experience, we’ll hold space for each other gently, acknowledging that we all come from different starting points and comfort levels with this practice. We aim to create a safe, honest and supportive environment, embracing this sensitive task with reverence.
Harvest is a joyous occasion - especially when done in community as in days of old - join us as we embark on this journey of connection, understanding, and mindful reflection with the animals and food that sustain us.
